Ballet Performance Day
Lola's and Eden's last day of school
Lola's Last Day: A marching band treat....
Lola's Last day of school was in early June and boy was it a fun day. Lola's classroom did a cute little musical parade around the school and they got to sing us a few good bye songs. It was very sweet. It was hard saying goodbye to some friends who will be starting kindergarten in the fall, but because Lola is barely 4 (August 10 is her birthday) she will be in preschool one more year. She had a really great time and before we knew it, it was summer break for Lola! I can't believe a year has already gone by.
The next week was Eden's last day of school. It was bitter sweet because we had just learned that her teacher got a pink slip and will not be returning to Parkmead. What a loss! She's such a great teacher. So commited, so very kind and patient. We see her everywhere we go and it was nice to think that possibly Lola could be in her classroom some day. Not so anymore. So we hugged and said goodbye to friends and made playdate arrangements and discussed our summer plans. The best part is that we got report cards and Eden has done such an incredible job! I was shocked to see that her math and reading both exceeded standards and her reading is in the second to third grade level! I'm so impressed but not too surprised. Reading is such an important part of our daily lives and has been since the girls were, well, in womb. But the math really shocked me because they were introduced to new and more complicated stuff towards the end of the school year. I thought for sure her score would go down, but her average was 100% up from 98 or 99%. Because she had done so well, my mom gave her $40! Let's just say Eden was so very proud of herself.
We've got so much planned this summer. Lots of camps and fun activities. Stay tuned!
