Roman Updates

Dad's got him dressed like a little man: motor cycle top, jeans, skull Vans

Uncle Tyrone comes to visit

He loves being swaddled.

Updates on the little guy:

We've had quite a few visitors. Uncle Tyrone came along with Reggie and we continue to have visits from grand parents and even auntie Sarah has come to see Roman. It's been so nice being surrounded by so much love. The girls absolutely love it! They are quite the social bugs. Always asking for a party at our home and always asking when someone will be by to visit.

Roman's last doctors visit went quite well. He is in the 75th percentile on height and weight and he's growing quite big. He loves to eat ALL THE TIME! So much in fact he is still waking often in the middle of the night to eat. He's the first of my kids to not sleep through the night. We never knew what sleep deprivation really was until Roman came along.
It's been a bit of a challenge juggling everyone's schedules, especially in the morning when I've got to get up at a certain time, shower and get the girls ready. Most mornings poor Roman has to wait to eat when the girls are at school. There is simply no time! And he is refusing the bottle right now and the paci.
Did I mention he hates riding in the car, too! The first baby I am sure ever to cry the whole drive. We went to Novato for Enrique's company picnic and we thought for sure he would fall asleep on the ride. NEGATIVE! A whole hour of crying and he finally fell alseep when we got there and shut the car off. He is such a strong willed little thing already. Such stamina! We could not believe it. We just found that he doesn't mind riding in the car at night though. Did I mention he loves lights as well. We think this is why he likes the drive at night. All the lights seem to calm him down.
Roman is just starting to really smile and do the baby talk with us. Some days after I drop the girls off at school, I will just hold him in my lap and stare at him and have a baby chat. He stares, kicks, smiles and coo's. He's such a charmer! When he's had enough he will yell at me and tap me with his hand over and over. This means time for eating and then a nap.
We call Roman our Go Go baby. He's always on the go! First we drop the girls off in the morning at school, run errands, come home for some breakfast, leave to pick-up Lola, come home, have some lunch, then go to pick up Eden. After we come home for a snack, go to ballet and make a run to Target or grocery store, pick Eden and Enrique up and come home. This is quite typical 4 days out of the week. Our Go Go baby. Roman, time to Go Go! It's too bad he hates his car seat! He'd be quite content if he did.

The girls:
The girls are doing well in school. Lola is such the social bug! Everyone wants a playdate with her. When we leave her classroom after school all you hear is "Bye Lola, bye Lola,I'll miss you" from numerous friends. She does an afterschool program called Keyspot some days because she really wants to be around other friends than be at home. Go figure, huh? She is doing a wonderful job in school. She is probably not too far from learning to read. I am so proud of her!
Eden is finding that 3rd grade is a bit of a challenge, but certainly one she can take on. She is doing a wonderful job and gets almost 100% everytime on her spelling tests and her writings. Her teacher is constantly praising her for doing such a great job on her writings. Math has been a challenge, for her and me! I am good at math, but it's having to learn everything all over again. The school is implementing a new math approach and it is all so new for me. Eden is doing well with it though but I find myself researching some of these new math terms when she asks for some help sometimes.
Now we are preparing for a joint Halloween party at a friends house the day before Halloween. Each girl gets to invite 4 friends. This should be a fun event for them and we are all looking forward to it.
