Easter Celebration

Easter started with an Easter Egg hunt at Heather Farms park in Walnut Creek the Saturday before Easter. We ran into a few friends from Eden's school and that was pretty fun for Eden. The girls did very well and got lots of candy and eggs. Afterward we walked around and enjoyed the pond and weather. We finally had a beautiful warm day. No more rain! The best part was walking around the flower garden. It is such a beautiful place with waterfalls, ponds plants of all kinds and a big rose garden. It was a very special day.
The next day was Easter. After the girls searched for their baskets, which the Easter Bunny hid all too well, and opened all their goodies we went to church at the Creek at Las Lomas high school. That was a very special service and there was an Easter Egg hunt for the little ones after service. Eden got to help place the Easter Eggs out and hand bags out to the toddlers. Lola got so many she had to share a few, which she didn't mind at all. They had a good time at Sunday School and were full of stories.
Next, we met Nana at our place because the Easter Bunny visited her house, too. What a nice bunny! And after we had a picnic at Heather Farms Park. It is such a lovely place we suggested it for a picnic and as it turns out we had such a wonderful time and it was another beautiful day. We ended up walking the gardens and the kids ran all over and chased each other and did cartwheels. Eden even got a pic of the old folks (us!). It was a very special lovely day!

Days at The Sheraton Hotel

Our Hotel is just as much fun as Disneyland or any other place we've been. We get special attention as preferred guests since we've been going there for so long and stay for so long. We know almost all the wait staff and that is so very nice. They really know how to pamper a person. When we first get to the hotel first of all, it is made to look like a castle so it feels like you are entering a castle. It's beautiful and the lobby is most incredible! Gigantic fish tanks, a fire place and a huge lounge area or two and the girls love the Koi fish pond and game room. I have included a couple of pictures of them on a bridge in the garden and near the pond. This year we got a very special room right next to the pool and on the garden grounds. We got lots of special treatment while there. It was so great! It was hard leaving our magical hotel. Lola still asks if we can live there. Wouldn't that be nice??! I wouldn't have to cook again since there is a restaurant there and I wouldn't have to clean again and transportation is provided. Can't wait to go again!

Vacation Part Three Disneyland

We could not wait to get to Disneyland! We've only been there a billion times but every time we go there it's like the first time we stepped foot at Disneyland. There is something so special and magical about this place. It makes you feel like a kid again. This year was especially fun because the girls are at the perfect age for enjoying the rides and all the park has to offer. They were so excited about Disneyland and couldn't wait to go. We decided to get a five day park hopper pass because it never fails. My mom usually ends up paying an extra day at Disney because we just love it so much. This time we chose to go to Disney 5 days instead of just four and we certainly went every single day.
I can't even put into words how much fun we had! Really! For all of us. But the kids were especially happy. We even ran into a couple of Eden's friends from school and the best part is her teacher was there, too. We ran into her at Toon Town. She is such a great person! It was such a nice surprise for Eden seeing her there and her teacher had nothing but wonderful things to say about her star student (these were her own words).
We got on most everything that isn't scarey that is. No roller coasters or splash mountain just yet, nor the haunted house. We got on the Alice and Wonderland Caterpillar ride at least 5 times and story book ride where the girls got to sit in the very front. They were quite excited about that. Eden was so protective of Lola on this ride. She didn't want her to fall in the water. Oh and we tried a new one the Nemo underwater Sub ride. That turned out to be a ton of fun and worth the wait. We have so so many pictures and just as many fond memories of this Disney Vacation. Lola was sick in the beginning of the trip and my mom and I, too and on our way home Eden was very sick and had to stay out of school the entire week after. But if you ask her she'd say it was all worth it. Like usual we can't wait to go again. Thanks NANA!!!!

Vacation Part two: Knotts Berry Farm

Next on our vacation agenda was a fun day planned at Knotts Berry Farm. The girls had a blast on the Woodstock bouncy ride! Lola had an incredible time on the rides. The kind of sad thing was my Eden was so very tall for most of the kiddie rides (she's only 7, too!) that she couldn't get on them. That was such a shocker to me! She's too young for all the roller coasters and scarier rides and too tall for all the kids rides! She and I both enjoyed the yo-yo ride, though. We got on this one at least 4 times. Eden did enjoy playing games, but she didn't like the losing part so much. It's hard to describe to a 7 year old that most of the games are meant to make you lose. And very hard to win.
Our favorite part (well, at least for my mom and I) is going to the Knotts Berry Farm restaurant and eating the famous fried chicken. My favorite part are the biscuits and jam.
All in all we had a lovely time and took tons of pictures.
Here's video of Lolie cracking up on a ride:

Vacation Time Part One: San Diego Zoo

For Spring break we decided to go with Nana to Southern California March 28-April 4. First on the list was San Diego Zoo. This place was really great! It was so huge we actually got lost in there.
The best part was the gorilla display, we all agreed. They were so animated that day. The adolecent gorilla were playing with the baby gorilla's and it was such a sweet display. We also enjoyed the panda bear exibit. They were busy eating their bamboo but it was nice getting so close to them. And the flamingos were so pink! Lola's best moment was getting close to the peacocks. She kept waving her hands to try and get them to display their feathers. No luck! It was a ton of fun! Eden enjoyed the bug exibit, too in the children's zoo area, but her favorite part was the bird estruary where there was a bird walking on the ground pecking everyone's feet.
The girls keep talking about going back to the San Diego Zoo. They had such a phenomenal time.

Runway Model Fun

The girls were invited to model at a Nordstrom Runway Fshion show in Walnut Creek
March 22. It was so thrilling watching the girls dazzle the crowd. A few days before the show, the girls got to go pick out the clothes they would like to model. This turned out to be a really fun thing for them. They felt like princesses and the staff kept making over them.
The day of the show Lola kept saying she was going to twirl and be a ballerina. However, at the show they paired her with a very loud and crazy little boy and it totally threw her off so she walked down the runway in a bit of a daze. She looked very cute though and a woman behind us commented on how adorable she was and she said she did a great job. Then it was Eden's turn. I am still amazed at how well she did. It blew me away. She walked out there as though she owned the runway. She was so beautiful and poised. She didn't look nervous in the least bit. I almost felt like I had a glimpse into the future. I can see her doing that later in life. There were several comments on her and a woman said she was so beautiful and tall. I was so incredibly proud of them that day! My girls!
